Dr. Shatz continues to make great strides in her career, as she works closely with families, individuals, and children. She continues to involve herself in incredible training programs for the betterment of her practice.

Dr. Jane Ellen Shatz is a prominent psychologist and child custody evaluator who maintains a specialty in parent-child relationship problems following divorce. As one who is both compassionate and skilled, she has had great success helping the most challenged families get “unstuck”, and back on track following divorce. She has in-depth training and experience in alienation. Many of her cases over the last 23 years has been with alienated children and rejected parents. Dr. Shatz has developed a successful intervention for a moderately alienated family as a custody recommendation.

 

In 2014 Dr. Shatz was an invited guest to a two-day planning colloquium with renown experts in parental alienation. Issues she discussed were related to educating mental health professionals, attorneys, and judicial officers. In 2014, she attended the MiKK 5-day Advanced Mediation Training for Family Mediators in international and intercultural family mediation and abduction. Alienation is frequently an issue in international abduction mediation. This same year she attended the Vermont Intensive Immersion training summer camp for Overcoming Barriers, which she then attended again in 2015 in Dallas, Texas. In 2015, she attended the International Abduction Mediation conference for 6 days in Washington DC.

 

In 2016, Dr. Shatz attended the 3-day Family Bridges Intervention Training program in Ontario, Canada. She became a Family Bridges Workshop Leader following the training. She was the workshop leader for Restoring Family Connections. Here she helped targeted parents and adult alienated children work through conflict, improve communication, and enhance connections.
